Title: bike on display at Cadre Cycle
Post by: nc43bsa on November 02, 2022, 07:52:31 PM
My sis picked up a part for me at Cadre today and she saw "a red Guzzi from the 1940s."

Anyone have an idea what it is?  She didn't take a picture.

This one?  Its not from the 40's and I will have to figure out exactly what model it is.

Last winter I was putting a plan together to paint my Jackal. My girlfriend, as indifferent about motorcycles as you can imagine, said "don't you dare! That bike is RED!" Ok Ok!

This thread reminds me how right she was.

Must great to be so close to a Guzzi shop that has treasures like this on display. Especially if you are allowed to go back in the shop area and check out the current projects. We have a shop about 50 miles from me

http://zapleatherandcycle.com/gallery

Chuck is the crazy owner behind all the restorations, loves to take people back in the shop area and show off the current works, brought to his shop from all over the US. He has restored several Guzzi’s but you never know what you’ll see on the stands when you visit. Amazingly he manages to keep as many as 5 bike mechanics employed for a good part of the year. This in a very rural area of West Central Mn with a population of probably less than 2000. If you happen to be traveling through this part of Mn it’s worth your visit. But be forewarned I’ve never gotten out of there in less than an hour. Chuck likes to share lots of stories.

allowed? more like encouraged! I don't know how blanket the attitude is, but for guzzistis he's acquainted with, and I assume most enthusiasts, he tells you within a couple minutes to go take a look, usually with a grin, cuz he knows he's releasing the kid into the candy store. You've heard it from everyone on here that's worked with him...he's a class act, who's every bit as smitten by these machines as we are.

 She was right. The Kid told me one time that your Jackal was the best looking one he'd ever seen..

She said the tag on the handlebar indicated early 1940s, but she doesn't remember the exact year.  After I referred her to a pictorial list of Guzzis of that era, she thought it might have been an Airone.

I intended to call Cadre today, but other events intervened.
