On a related note, and as I understand it, Tesla's algorithms that determine another vehicle's distance at night relies partly on gauging the distance between the vehicle's 2 headlights. The closer together they are the farther away the vehicle appears to be. Some motorcycles have 2 headlights on simultaneously, and are naturally closer together than a car's. I seem to remember reading about Teslas involved in accidents with motorcycles because the driving assist algorithms interpreted a nearby motorcycle as being a car far away. Fortnine also described this phenomena with other drivers' perceptions too. Not sure how crazy new light patterns would affect this.

I run caliper mounted auxiliary lights for this reason. The light triangle is easier to see in all conditions. The diverging pattern of approach helps others gauge distance.

I've been running these on my Ambo for several years, they probably aren't far apart enough but, they are bright as hell! And all the Harley riders wave, I've got that going for me.

Same here, but in combination with a pulsating headlight made a noticeable difference in car drivers seeing me when riding.

I learned that this new lighting system — six lights that run from the top of the motorcycle to the bottom instead of one headlight — could help improve other drivers' ability to see approaching motorcycles near the road.
