Title: Ewwwwww SALT !
Post by: kballowe on November 15, 2022, 10:15:19 AM
MODOT was busy spreading some manner of de-icing - just before this latest bit of snow.

I guess it's time to clean and shine something (in the basement man cave)

I saw piles of salt at exit ramps the last few mornings here in Syracuse.  The worst is the beet juice mixes that stick to the cars as well as the roads.  A few wet inches here last night which is pretty much on schedule. I turned on the garage heat last night and will also be doing the clean and shine routine soon.

Yep - salt and sand on the roads now in central Maine.

It should dry out by the weekend - maybe next week I'll
be able to take a bike out without completely destroying the finish.

One of these years I've got to buy a rat bike. An old KLR or something
that I wouldn't mind trashing on winter roads. An old Ural might be
perfect - but they're still real money. (How badly do I want to ride
in the snow?!)
