I will keep day offs now between Christmas and New Year.
There would be one Triumph Tiger XC 2013 (56 000km) on sale in one motorbike shop (not very far). I might go to look on that more closely. It should have ABS & heated grips.

Stonking motor
Top heavy, well heavy in general
Nicely fitted except the hard bags, leaked and felt chinsey
The coolant back then was outrageously priced
Valve adjustment a pain or $$$

As being top heavy ... that is a negative matter if riding real off roads but opposite a positive matter on asphalt roads? How about gravel roads?

I bought this one new in 2006. It’s getting close to 80,000 miles now. It’s been a great machine, but is better suited for gravel roads rather than single track.

It got tired trying to make the hill in the wet leaves.
It’s a great bike but too heavy for serious off road.

I can see how you’d probably stick with one if you had it.
They never seem to do anything wrong, just a beautiful motor with the gruff triple sound and feel.

I bought one new in 2013. Worst purchase I ever made. I'll never own another Triumph.
I see the mirror stems are rusty. Mine went from black to grey to bare steel in 3 years. The frame looks like mine as well. The paint started falling off that just before I sold it. The steering lock on mine never worked. You could engage it and still turn the bars. The locking pin wasn't long enough from the factory. Then there was the parade of defects and breakdowns. It burned oil from new (low compression on #3). Dealer refused to tell Triumph that I had a problem. Triumph refused to warranty the bike because the dealer didn't report the issue to them.
My friends called it the 'dust buster' because that's what the engine sounded like....strait cut plastic gears in a disposable vacuum cleaner.
I had to pull the cams out every 12k miles because the valves would not stay in spec. You'll need a lap top and the correct software to balance the throttle bodies.
2013 had the bad shift shaft. Mine failed at 42k miles...during a Guzzi rally. Triumph fixed the issue in the Daytona but neglected to do so in the Tigers.
I liked the handling and the headlights. That's was about it. It sank like a stone in sand. It required knobby tires to go anywhere off-road. The engine promptly ate them. That got real expensive, real fast. After 44k miles it wasn't reliable enough to leave town on. I'd have to assume that by now these things are "mechanics specials". Mine was one when it was brand new.
Anyway, I tried to trade it for a KLR. Ended up taking $2,200 for it.

My dad had a new 2013. Loved it. No issues. I didn’t feel that it was too heavy. Felt like a “light” tiger 1050. Bags are cute but little quirky. I wouldn’t mind having one someday

I doubt I will try any serious off roads (in any near future), so that will not harm too much. Just to ride gravel roads / unpaved roads much more. To play safe here ... I would go to Triumph 800 model with 21'' front wheel (and not the one with 19'' front wheel).
Now as we have winter time the full testing of motorcycle will be bit complicate.
If I'll end to buy that Triumph (give my Nevada away) ... who knows I might buy V85TT one day. Today those 2. hand guzzies just are clearly over my budged (the cheapest one used are about 14 000euros).
Ok, back to sleep ... it is 4:24 here.

I have been bad ''girl'' ... I ended to sell my Moto Guzzi Nevada 750 ie (2005) ... or changed it to that Triump Tiger 800 (2013). As I said already few years ago (my tyres threads etc.) I will need to ride gravel roads regularly and simply wanted something which will fit on that bit better.
Seat was high (even as position low), so I will need to do something on that (lower seat). As it is snowly winter here, I could not test bike (ride it). But at least I was able to start up motor and test the bike on center stand. As I bought it from bike shop they have some responsibility (if something would not work on May) ... as I will start my riding season).
I might return to Moto Guzzi rider as prices of second hand Moto Guzzi V85TT have dropped enough. Until then I will ride triple cylinder beast.

I found the heat coming off the lower right side to be unacceptable in Western New York summers.

Great bikes, awesome engine, but yes, they may be slightly top-heavy. That's why I traded mine in for a V85TT.
The 1st gen bikes, which would include the 2013, had a rather tall 1st gear. There was also mention of a rare issue with the idle control stepper getting gummed up with dust, though I never encountered this on my 2014, which saw its share of dust. Indeed, I got 50,000 trouble free... if slightly top-heavy... miles out of my Tiger.

Debbie has a 2018 Tiger 800 RX Low and absolutley loves, it's her favorite of the hoard. Her's alomost all highway riding.

I have a 2011. I agree with the comments, great motor but top heavy. I gave up on taking far off road and put Anakee 3s on it and use it as a street bike. Kept my KLR for off road. Knock wood, no major issues and I do my own service including valve adjustments. If I had nothing and was looking for a true dual sport I would look elsewhere, maybe a KTM.

I could settle on a Tiger 800 in about 5 minutes.
If they did one with a shaft drive I would likely have gotten one by now. I have utter faith in their integrity and suitability for the intended purpose.
My 1050 Sprint ST was an absolute rock of Gibraltar, faultless in the 80,000 k I did on it. All the perceived reliability of BMW but with the added bonus of a personality… :bow: :thumb:
I would consider a KTM if they threw in a free 6’ x 4’ trailer as well.
