Title: 850 Le Mans LEGO switchgear
Post by: lyorn79 on December 30, 2022, 12:07:49 PM
Hello, as a belated Christmas gift for my dad who is restoring the bike in subject I was going to try and help restore the painted lettering on the handlebars which has all but faded.

Does anyone have any advice as to how to go about this, is there a special stencil kit I could buy? I have looked into a sheet of transferrable stickers but I have a feeling they would be a nightmare to apply and not hold up for long.

Would appreciate any help even a source of where I could purchase a new switchgear though that would be a last resort.

Kind Regards
Sarah

Keep an eye on eBay, they show up from time to time.

For as crappy as those switches are, they are not cheap.

Are you talking about the letters on the switches? I believe that I bought a set of those stickers on eBay. I’ll double check my eBay history.

Edit: Nope, didn’t buy them on eBay so,I must have purchased them through a Guzzi source….

Don’t know where I bought them but it wasn’t too long ago.

If you do remember or someone else can point in the right direction that would be awesome.

I literally just bought a set of these decals from Ebay via a UK seller. I also found them from Germany although shipping costs more than the item itself. Here is the link to the decals:

I'd give the boys at MG Cycle a call.If SD has them then  they are agents and should be able to get some too.

Hey guys

Thank you so much for the replies and advice its been manic for me this last week so I haven't been able to get started on anything.

That sticker set is definitely appealing for lack of complications but I also came across this image online of them looking like this so my heart is sort of set on trying to make a stencil and spraying white paint through hopefully.
