I think about motorcycles ALL the time...
-
What ever floats your boat. :thumb:
I have known a number of people that are very focused in one area of interest and thank goodness there are because they are generally the go to people for the rest of us. I cannot do that and have wide spread interests so no diving into the deep end in any one area but have a lot of fun swimming in the shallow areas of a lot of pools.

Yes.
I’m booked in to get my medical and flight review done next week to re validate my pilot’s licence and I just cannot get excited about it.
It’s hot outside and I can either do some practice nav’s inside or go out to the workshop and to a TGPS reset on the V85.
Looks like I’m going outside.
The bike wins…..
I hope I never have my computer history forensically examined, all I ever visit is WG……

I know what you mean

So, what is this problem you are speaking of?

It's not a problem.....it's our normal mental state for most of us here, I am sure. A shrink would probably define it as OCD....

I think someone finally uncrated that SR500 JJ. What a lot of fuss. I think I’ll post a thread about it.

Need to diversify. Spend more time working on your boat. Always something to do on a boat...

Right there with you Ben, but it could definitely be worse... One of my similarly obsessed friends says "Fortunately there's not a lot of homeless motorcycle addicts"

Doesn't sound like a problem to me, I can stop anytime I want.

Only one? I have six, although one isn't usable. The sail was destroyed and I can't find a replacement. All but one of the others need something. One, a 1958 Hydroswift is in the process of a major overhaul.

I call it a passion, my wife calls it obsession. Either way it’s all good, I can think of a lot of other things to be crazy about that are not as healthy.
👍

Could be worse, I think about old cars too.
-
Now why bring up the boat? It’s the time of year when the boat is out of the water and doesn’t need commissioning yet. These are the 250 third happiest days in a boat owners life.
-
I’m being totally serious when I say this. What you have is a BLESSING.
I have several maniacal passions, one of which is motorcycling. Lots of people will denigrate you for your “obsession.” But the sad truth is that an enormous percentage of the population either doesn’t have, or never discovers, their passionate interest. So they waste their lives pursuing stupid fads, watching too much TV, messing with drugs or alcohol, or doing things they don’t really enjoy that much but think they are supposed to like for social reasons, etc.
If you have a few interests you are genuinely, naturally passionate about, you are truly blessed. So go out and enjoy your blessing.

I'm Unapologetic about it too.....
-
Hmmmm? I have no idea what you're talking about Ben.
-
I’d suggest you might be transitioning from ‘thinking’ to a more transactional interest. They say “One man’s ceiling is another man’s floor”…
maybe it’s just a phase to a higher level of consciousness?
Like this guy. Obviously they moved from thinking, to doing. It’s the only way out!
Doo be doo be doo…

Because I can look at motorcycles all day and half the night. Porn? bore-ing.

Ben, I have no clue what you're talking about.  but I do have seasonal interests that take time away from family, real estate investments, work, officiating hs sports (no longer coaching), hs tutor, AARP Driver Instructor, mechanic for the fleet cars and motorcycles. Always something to work on. Mentally and in person. A distracted busy mind.....yes but the riding the bikes is good therapy. Better hobby than going to bars.
BTDT.

I'm addicted to motorbikes.
It could be something really dangerous - like heroin, or booze, or women.
It's only motorbikes....
(And I'm no longer married, so I can be addicted to anything I please. :thumb:)

After riding for 61 years and owning 76 motorcycles.......m y wife says I have a "sickness". Isn't there another word or terminology she could use ??? The Kid

I told my wife that at least my mistress has two wheels and not two legs!!

Sara and I have an open relationship. I can have as many motorcycles as I want and she has total control of all things inside the house, where we vacation, what I wear, what I eat and what dogs we acquire. I’m ok with this.

I have three. My 1959 Cutter Jet Deville is still in project status...

I hear ya.... :thumb: ...in my case, after 34 motorcycles in 56 years, I am retired now...and pretty much finished...With only two (2) motorcycles in the garage....and on Social Security / Medicare...and that means no more disposable income to whizz away on motorcycles.....(*SIGH*)
However, God forbid I ever win THE LOTTERY...

“Run in such a way that you may win the race…”
Wife #1 was clearly over my relentless obsession with bikes when she left. Wife #2 said “if you come home with any more bikes, I’m leaving.” So I came home with 5 more bikes that night & she left for good the next morning, never to return. The sticker on the tank of my V7 Sport says it all-

Wife #3 has zero issues with my bikes and we’ve been happily married for 22+ yrs. I don’t think bikes were my problem….

To paraphrase W.C. Fields, "I spent half my money on motorcycles, alcohol and wild women. The other half I wasted"

Good one! :thumb:
