I bought a old school Gas compressor, and it was a bit loud.. I decided I know how to deal with that..Not quite done, but a bit of bending the pipe Nipple, and a little more weld bead in a few spots, and it will be ready to go..That, and the rear mount to pump I mostly just stick welded it, and I will fill a bit more with tig later. It did pretty good for SS to the China cast steel pipe fitting.(309 ss) Main thing it really quiet now and just a nice low tone to it.. Reminds me of something..

That's a serious compressor. You won't ever wear it out. Recommend pulling the head on the compressor and cleaning the reed valves. You could put an electric motor on it easy. Use one half the rated horsepower of the gas engine.

It's been serviced by Portland compressor.. Low hour Disk valve unit.. They still sell that Kellogg pump No reason for me to go electric on this one.. I have it to go with my gas engine drive, and 460 volt plasma cutter..I just wanted less noise out of it.. The ebay Breva Muffler was just the ticket//BTW I have a 7.5 HP 3 phase electric compressor that uses a slowed down 15 hp pump from the factory That gets me plenty of shop air. (575 rpm) In fact just picked up the little one, and slowing it down for less noise out of it, and longer life..It's for when i don't want to cycle the big one for my tire machine, blowing off the bike etc...
