Title: Under attack

The board was under attack this morning with hundreds of spambots that cracked the registration process. I've cleaned and fixed it all up, but also have the hosts doing some things on their end to make sure no damage was done to any core files. So far, I can find nothing wrong but wanted to get another set of eyes on it.

Just in case and FYI, the board may go up and down a bit during the day.

I can’t conceive of having the type of skill set required to navigate the pitfalls of todays cyber world, but it’s an incredible tool we have at our disposal here. It’s somewhat of a paradox that the more work Luap does silently, the less apparent he is.

Thank you for your  "invisible " efforts to make this this forum the superb 'go to' for information and stimulating exchange of insight and
humor.  Ironically, when these attacks occur and you bring it to our attention, it reminds us that this site doesn't automatically just happen,
there are dedicated people behind the curtain that make the show go on.    :thumb:

Man I went into full blown panic mode last night when I received 137 new member requests at one time! I pulled a Forest Gump phrase,  “I gotta find Luap”!!!😂

Fixing the attack damage was always the easy part of the job. Repair and fortification usually have a known magnitude and duration.

Standing by when all was running well with the realization that you were liable to an assault by an unknown entity of unknown magnitude at any time was the stressful part of managing a system.

At least for me, I'd rather hear the shoe drop than sit there waiting for it.
