Title: Ambo/Eldo police flasher unit
Post by: DodgeBoy on February 14, 2023, 04:02:48 AM
I am trying to find more information about the original police flasher unit mentioned in the parts catalogue for the Ambo/Eldo police equipment.
The catalogue states that its a 12V 60W unit part # 13741540

Does someone happen to have one for sale or at least could provide a picture so i could look up for a substitute? I assume its a cylindrical style unit with 2 spade terminals?

Thanks

I am allready in contact with Curtis but it seems he does not have that specific unit in storage. He would go for a substitute thats why i wanted to try it here.

This is the original flasher fitted to US Eldorados. I have two new-old-stock ones and neither works.

Thermal flashers aren't worth the trouble - most are dead right out of the box. Better to use an electronic flasher for more consistent flash speed. Compatible with incandescent and LED bulbs.

Yes, thats the part # 93450129 for civilian models i think i saw that one before. The police one (#13741540) should have 60 W...i was curious how it looks like. I did not know they are that unreliable...hm...

My '75 Eldo police (only 4890 miles from new) has the same flasher as in my photo. Unless you're trying to build a 100% original police Eldo that will be a display piece only, then a modern electronic flasher is the way to go.
