Title: V9 rubber boot gearbox to swingarm
Post by: tris on February 20, 2023, 01:39:27 PM
I was cleaning the bike on Sunday and found this

The groove to the right looks like it should have a worm drive clip or zip tie fitted but there isn't one
I can't see one on the parts fiche either, but Guzzi documents have been known to lie before

Is this normal or is my bike missing a piece

Cheers

I just checked the service manual, and p. 128 mentions cutting the “sealing ring” to remove the rubber boot. Pretty sure this is indicates a cable tie like what is used on previous models:

Great Catch Dirk thanks - I think that confirms it

I see the exploded drawing there doesn't show it either.

The good news is
A) it's reasonably tight so hopefully nothing untoward has got in
B) I have a suitable zip tie in the garage

Cheers
