I just found out I have to have a total reconstruction of my left ankle in May. Which means 8-10 week no weightg bearing so there goes my spring riding plans. So I am counting on all of you to post lots of pictures of your adventures in this thread so I can ride vicariously through you guys until I can get back in the saddle, maybe Deb will let me ride two up with her :thumb: Between now and May 10th I am gong to get in all the riding i can. Then the garge will set idle for awhile, don't really think I even be able to do much tinkering for a least 6 weeks.
So I look forward to your photos and ride reports.
Gettin' old ain't for sisses

Good luck with your surgery and GET WELL SOON! :thumb:
-
Well damn Curt. Sorry to hear this. Good friend just had ankle surgery. He's doing well but warns that one needs to do what the doctor says. Look at the bright side. You'll have plenty of time to make friends with the cats.
-
Get well soon Curt.
If I was in your area, I'd ride your bikes to keep them healthy, otherwise I'll offer best wishes.
-
Bummer dude, You'll have to watch my FB posts for T7 escapades, I wouldn't want to bore anyone here w/ Non Guzzi content  Best wishes for a speedy recovery!
-
Good luck on the ankle! Got mine done at time of the break. All bits were taken out, now it looks square. Broke mine going around a corner w/floorboard up. Foot was on the edge, toe of boot caught ground & snap. I looked down & saw my foot facing backwards, completely loose. After the cast was off the swelling wouldn't go down so another surgery to take out the screws that were supposed to be left in. My body doesn't like metal.
Here I thought you were going to ask us to come ride your bikes for you.
-
Yes, good luck on the ankle.
"I looked down & saw my foot facing backwards, completely loose."
Ouch, that would flip me out.
-
Good luck with the reconstruction!
Your ankle is complex and delicate - hope you have a good orthopedist!
But the best surgery will be wasted if you don't do your job with the rehabilitation. So get a good physio, too!
Oh - nice garage!

Best of luck with your ankle surgery! Nice line of machines in your garage, I have always liked the Suzuki keeps and that pretty vintage Yamaha along the wall looks very nice!

That offer is open to any of my Guzzi family while I am down. Becuase of a medical condition I was on high dose Predisone 80 mg for many years, and it damn near killed me. I blew up to 390 lbs, have had both achilles worked on, replaced both knees, have terrible neropathy in my feet and ankles, and now this.
Since the change I have lost 120 lbs, worked myass off with diet, gym, yoga and have gotten much stronger. The affter effects of all of that still linger though. I'm not looking for sympathy and not bitchin' a lot of folks have it much worse than me. Just glad I have been able to pretty much recover, my issues are in remission and hope they stay there, and we'l just keep smiling and pressing on.
Thanks all for the kind words of support!!

Thanks, yes i have a great orthopedic team. They have already replaced both knees, and this doctor also did my daughters ankle and sings his prasies. PT is the most important part I know, and I am pretty disiplined. I did great with my knees, did them 4 weeks apart. Had a friend do his about the same time, and he did not do the PT and ended up back in surgery, don't want to go there! Thanks

Thanks yes the litttle Yamaha is one of my favorite, has a whole story with a little 80 year old lady. So sentimental value, it and the Eldo will never go until I do.
Thanks again.

Wow, I'm just happy to walk w/all my broken bones. My R wrist been broke 3 times, can't wipe my a--!! Have the bottom 3 back disc's degenerated(flat) & colarbone still loose for 20yrs. I do have a wheelchair & walkers and am all set for what is to come someday. For now I'm still scooting around on garage floors working on bikes. I don't take anything for pain cause then I know when it's fixed. I still have good knee's, one acts up w/weather but doable. They been bent backwards twice against cars, exiting in a MC wreck.

You do realize a Ural sidecar rig removes all the weight bearing issues from the equation?

Yes! The Eldo and CX need a meet and greet in the Ozarks :thumb:

See my point some people have far more challanges than me, stay strong keep moving. MY Mother lived to 97 and taught me that.

I hear you're a regular Travis Pastrami.

You need another bike. Something in an automatic so you don't have to use your left foot. Something with a chair to keep you upright.

It's funny but I use the sidecar for most of my local chores. I can fit 10 bags of groceries or 4 cases of Growlers easily.

Best of luck with the surgery. I like your use of garage space. Well wishes inbound.

Actually I'm compared to Pol Terres, the say "he doesn't ride ANYTHING like Pol Terres"

Hoping it all goes well, and you are back in the saddle quickly.
In the meantime, her is the start of my contribution to ride photos.

I think we're both in that category ..... interchange with Scotty Parker, Roberts, Hayeden, Rossi, etc., they got nothing on us, literally.
