I’m not anything of a bird expert, but the songs outside in the morning are getting sprightlier.

Yup. It’s getting tweety-er here too. One of my favorite aspects of my stone videos are the sounds of birds singing in the background when there aren’t other noises to obscure them. The west wall of my studio is open, so it’s easy to hear them.
Many of my older videos have Mr Cletus, our late great favorite he-man beast of a rooster, crowing occasionally in the background. We miss him.

The Robins are tuning up around here. Get one of those near a window and it's a great alarm clock. My wife is gearing up for the Hummingbird invasion.
-
Have a new hummingbird feeder at the ready and also hope last year’s mockingbirds return, too.
-
I always look foreword to hearing the little frogs emerge. I call the "spring peepers" when they appear, we rarely get another hard freeze until late fall.
We have a pair of mockingbirds around the house, they can be a little obnoxious sometimes.
-
I have mockingbird. I have a sound file I play when they are around. They go crazy. I will put the phone in a tree and let it play, they fly up and jump around. Looking for the bird. It is fun to watch. They get territorial. If others fly in, the first one in will chase them off. Then come back.

[/quote. That sounds like fun. Used to mess with foxes and coyotes like that with a tape of a wounded rabbit and fox pup

Yeah, I get that most every day now. It's the tinnitus, or whatever it's called. Some days it's white noise, others the sound of the surf, but lately it's been birds chirping. One of life's new adventures, I guess!
-
My tinnitus used to be crickets but in recent years it is more like peep frogs. I wound up with it after a high fever when I was 7 or 8. I went to bed with a fever, when I woke up it was gone but I had gained a case of tinnitus. I have had it ever since. Hearing aides help to reduce it somewhat. Construction, shooting, unmuffled engines and motorcycles haven't helped. Protect your hearing, don't ride more than a very few miles at low speed without earplugs.

I've been putting out black oil seed for the past few cold and windy days. Today we had 8 blue jays, 6 cardinals, a red wing black bird, many tufted titmouse, sparrows, morning doves, and 3 squirrels. It was a madhouse but fun to watch.
