Title: Today
Post by: BMCMOTO on April 03, 2023, 04:30:24 PM
Today, I got out for my first motorcycle ride of the year. A short but enjoyable 15 miles or so, mostly paved roads but a few miles of gravel as well. Our gravel roads are in their best condition for a few short weeks at the beginning of spring and were a joy today. I was on the 750 Breva, which ran like a top. The clutch adjustment continues to be an issue if adjusted to have free play when cold, it drags when warm and vice versa. As long as one keeps on the go, it isn't such a great problem. Traffic work is difficult and miserable, unable to select neutral moving or stopped. Today's ride had no traffic! It never ceases to amaze me how even a short ride can boost my mood and spirit!!! I am so grateful that I can still throw a leg over for joy. Less than a mile from home, a gentle rain commenced and continues this evening. I was dampened only physically, my spirits are still high, can you tell?

2nd one of the year for me..."proving in" some software updates the dealer performed a few days ago on the HD. 100 miles of rural county roads and temps in the upper 70's. Mission Control: All systems are GO!

I took the Ambo for a 60 mile stretch this afternoon.  Very pleasant, but a little on the warm side.
I tried my window unit for the first time this year and it didn't want to start,  but after a little persuasion it's cooling again.

Stopped into a church, I passed along the way.

I've ridden exactly once this year. We had a decent day in February, and I put on about 30 miles and flew my little homebuilt airplane the first time.  *That* was a good day. Yesterday, I did honey does..picking up sticks and limbs from the wind storm, and washing the car for the first time in months. Ugg.

I enjoy winter rides in the Ozarks, we get very little snow, there's less tourist and farm traffic and you can see all the rock formations you don't see under summer foliage. I haven't "winterized" a bike for years!
