Title: Changing V85 turn signals to Led style
Post by: fastlaners on April 10, 2023, 09:32:45 AM
Hello V85TT owners; I’m considering changing my turn signals; from larger US style halogen bulbs units to the smaller LED version; just wondering if it’s a plug-in play change or if relays or anything else would have to be changed due to LED operation? Suggestions and input would be appreciated. Thank you, John.

If you go with the stock, Euro, turn signals then they are plug and play.

I changed my Euro blinkers to US ones, with LED bulbs. Euro ones are hard to be seen in daylight.

When I installed LED signals I had to wire diodes in the leads to the idiot light so that power wouldn’t bleed back to the other signal. I’m sure that there is a clean aftermarket option to deal with this.

Why do you want to change the signals in the first place? Looks?

I've never found changing directionals worth the $$ effort or time. Head and Tail yes, but directionals?  Nah...

The bulbs are more expensive, you need to swap out the blinker relay for an LED specific, or add a resistor to each of the 4 directionals.
