Title: Tn/Ga June meet n greet lunch
Post by: bobrebos1 on April 27, 2023, 09:53:41 AM
Will be at 1200 noon on June 10th 2023 at Two Wheels of Suches Motorcycle Campground in Suches Ga.  That weekend Suches is having a dual sport rally so cabins are full but you can always tent it like me!

Come on Guzzi riders!  Hope to see you at Suches for lunch on the 10th of June!  Thanks. Bob

OK ,

I've got it on my calendar , I hope to camp for a few days and might bring a
BMW buddy ?

I was thinking Thursday or Friday afternoon - Sunday morning ?   I'll bring a tent.

Day rides in a different direction every day !

Weather permitting that is.

Since I will have to tent I may just ride over on Friday or Saturday and come home on Sunday.

Will see how I feel after my 12 days on a bike the end of May.

Just got out of a meeting and may be in Florida starting on the 5th, otherwise I would take you up on the offer.  If the stars align I may look at the route to Suches from the Gulf Coast and see if that can work.

I'll see if I can make it.  Just a 3 hour ride from home so likely won't be staying overnight.

Been to TWOS twice since getting the V85TT and thought for sure I'd have the only Guzzi there, but both times there were others.  In this case, there will be more for sure :)

There are a few Guzzi's that reside up there, they seem to be all over N. GA.
I'm still stuck here on weekends, till wife retires. She keeps putting it off for the $.

The "one more year" syndrome.  Someone pointed out to me that I am actually working for less money now that I am retirement eligible.

We may have met!  I recall the last time I was there I was out front looking at a California 1400.  Stopped by a few times over the years including right after Buell went belly up.  That was not a happy time I gather

I forgot I cut my hair off to marry my wife the 2nd time, worth it though. She's only been to about 5 rallies.

I'm in Alpharetta, I'll go for the day as long as it's not going to rain, will update you as get closer. Been caught in the rain many times up there, got hit on my freshly restored Le Mans last year as recorded on one of my videos https://youtu.be/uqxoZUJ2WrQ (https://youtu.be/uqxoZUJ2WrQ). It's all fun until the rain comes... and we've had a ton of if over the last couple of years.

Bumpity bump.  2 weeks out.

My starter button STILL intermittently doesent work so I have to be careful where I shut it off at lol.  I like to sit around Camp and relax but that’s just me, and I’m not a fast rider but yes I am hoping for dry nice weather!  Plus I think I hurt my rotator cuff  !! Shoulder has been hurting for seven weeks.  I see orthopedic doctor Thursday!  Dang it.

Went to orthopedic surgeon today.  He says he thinks I tore my rotator cuff pretty bad.  MRI next to confirm then he wants to do surgery.  Boy that’s going to cut off my riding time with my arm in a sling.  Dang it.  He said he needs to fix it soon because it’s been nine weeks since I hurt it.  Dang it dang it dang it!!!!

Hey Bob,         I just looked up the Georgia Sidecar Club rally, same weekend, at Wispering Pines Campground, Morgantown GA

So, if you are going to TWO, go north a bit more & see the rigs. They are usually in & out of TWO that weekend & all over N.GA

I just sold my  Guzzi ,  for the first time in years I'm down to one motorcycle.  Its a different feeling ... not having a choice of bikes to ride !

At 70 years old now , I'm going to have to stay with the lowest sitting , easiest ridding machine I can fine , but a few more HP would be nice .   Without going liquid cooled there aren't a lot of choices out there here in good old USA.   The one I have left now is a RE Meteor so I'll stick with it till something better comes along.
I'm ridding to Suches this weekend (weather permitting) and hope to see some fancy Side-Car-Rigs !

Wow!  Sold the Guzzi!!!  Glad to hear you’re going to Suches this weekend.  Il see you there!  Due to my bad rotator cuff/shoulder I may not be able to ride to there, shoulder can’t handle the curves.  So I may trailer the bike or just take my truck.  I still want to go even if I might not be able to ride to there.  Il be in cabin #2 and might have a guzzi flag hanging if I can find it.  Lol.  Stay well and see you this weekend.

Two wheels of Suches just posted that they are doing a catered dinner Saturday night for the dual sport riding club and dinner is closed to the public.  I don’t know if that means campers not in dual sport club will have to go elsewhere for Saturday dinner or not????  I guess we will find out Saturday!  Maybe I need to bring bratwurst/pork n beans/chips/ grill/pots and pans/plates etc for Saturday dinner???  Il have a trailer so I could???

I’m bringing the food and kitchen supplies for Saturday nights meal for us.  The rest of the meals you will have to fend for yourself or (eat at lodge friday dinner, Saturday breakfast, lunch, Sunday breakfast).  The lodge is catering a meal to the dual sport riding club Saturday dinner, and that’s why I’m cooking Saturday dinner, but lodge will be serving Friday dinner, Saturday breakfast and lunch and Sunday breakfast.  I plan on arriving in my truck (due to bad shoulder) Thursday afternoon and will be in cabin 2.

Bratwurst, or maybe pork chops, beans, and chips for dinner!  Undecided for sure yet but there will be something to eat

Bob

I was just in the area (Woodruff Boy Scout camp) the last few days. Did ride up on the V7III from Tampa last Sunday, got caught in the storm SUn nite going over Blood Mountain, turns out there was hail too! Going back yesterday was much easier.  Coppers were out ticketing a few riders at both sides of 129 over the mountain.
Anyway, bad timing for this year, but i should have the EV ready by next year and hope to get there! NOT sleeping in a tent if I can help it!

No surprise , that there was an endless supply of Triumphs in Hiawassee

Most of the old bikes look nice and light , the new ones look like monsters in comparison .
Yep , I'm wanting a ... NEW Replica ... of the 380 pound 650 Triumphs , even down to the single throttle body.
