Title: New Lemans 2 - brake upgrade?
Post by: lazlokovacs on May 16, 2023, 01:53:13 PM

scored a LM2 partly disassembled for a good price last week. Went back together super easy. Bike was once known to me and has the sweetest guzzi engine I've ever encountered. Perfect little hot-rodded 850 nut.

Anyway, brakes are all shot.

Can bleed the linked system to get a pretty good pressure, but all the pressure disappears about half an hour later... any ideas where to start? (reverse bled with a syringe including bleeding master cylinder and proportioning valve)

Also, pretty much the same with the front, but slightly better.

And is there a modern caliper bolt-on replacement out there?

thanks as ever

Master kits work wonders.  Nice bike.

One nice thing about the Cal Vin is the bleeder on top of the linked brake splitter. If you look to replace it look for a Cal Vin unit.

I was not a big lover of the linked brake system until I bought one of the speigler stainless braided kits from Harpers for my lemans III. ( I went with the rubberized black coating, stealthy) you could always fit a single Brembo P34 to the front.
