Now that my V700 is rolling along I am looking for options for my current original dual seat.
I had purchased the aftermarket solo seat for loop frames that is sold by MG cycle and others but found that it added way to much height for my liking so I resold it here.
So the ast one left is harpers solo seat or perhaps just the pan - anyone own and use either? - love to know if it increases seat height from original and comfort level
appreciate the responses

I know there used to be talk of adapting a Harley solo seat.
This popped up in the archives along with a Ural seat. A solution but not the only one I've heard of.

I have a Harper's solo seat that has been on my '71 Ambo, then my '69 Ambo and finally the '69 V700. When the new owner of the V700 changed to the sprung solo, I bought the Harper's seat back from him - that how much I like it. I find it to be the most comfortable seat I've ever ridden on. Of course, YMMV - everyone's derrière is different. Seat height is actually lower.
The Cycle Garden/Sargent seat is hard and not very comfortable, even on a short ride.
Several customers have the reproduction Harley police solo seats on their Loops. Very little padding, but the shape is good. Painful after an hour or so, for me.

The Harpers' seat is solid mounted just like the original dual seat. So height is not raised significantly at all. On big point is the narrower front of the seat allows shorter legs to reach the ground easier. The foam is of medium density marine type so it is water resistant as is the cover. As with shoes, seats differ from one person to another in what they like or feel comfortable with. However, with over 800 sold in the past 25 years and very little complaints I would say it is very comfortable.

I have the Harpers solo seat on my convert and love it. Highly recommend.

Imho, the Harpers solo saddle must be good considering that over 800 have been sold and nobody out there that has one wants to sell it to me. I guess I'll to go out to the back yard, dig up a coffee can of cash and buy a new one for my old Eldo.

Alas, I’m told, just now, by Curtis that the Convert solo seat has been discontinued and sold out - no wonder I couldn’t find it on the new website.
Just as I was planning to get one when my Convert arrives …. 🙁

Looks good! Is it hard mounted to frame or does it pivot up front & springs in back?
Thanks,
Art

The Harper's solo seat is "hard mounted".
