Continuing on with my Summer project, I am now on my way to the New England states.
I left the Ozarks Tuesday morning and pushed somewhat hard the 1st day to Blue Lick State Historical Park. The last battle of the Revolutionary War was fought there.
Wednesday, I headed into Ohio for a bit of drama. Just outside of Circleville, while going down the highway at speed, the engine shut down! I rolled to the shoulder. Hmm... There was still electrical power. O cranked the engine and fuel gushed to the ground. It didn't take long to see that the fuel line disconnect had disconnected. The last time the tank had been off was 17,000 miles ago. Weird. Reconnected and no more problems. I stopped in Salem OH for the night.
Today, O ride from Salrm OH to Watkins Glen NY

Day 3: I stopped for the night at Watkins Glen NY.
The Watkins Glen Gorge is very impressive. The best thing I have seen so far.

Hope it is not to late to tell you about the Chesapeak BayBridge Tunnel that is called one of the ten wonders in the US. IMHO well worth the toll. Check it out.
The Mackinaw Bridge in Michigan is well worth the toll.
Want anymore points of interest as the KERA is not helping you out?

Tex, the Chesapeake bay bridge/tunnel/ bridge/tunnel/bridge is planned for this Fall.
Today I am at Ft Ticonderoga. Tomorrow Mt. WA. Then The Maine Coast for a lobster.
I welcome any suggestions.
After Maine, I ride thru MA, RI, CN. Probably NJ, VA and WV as well, tho I will be in VA in the Fall.

Tom, my goal is to stop and see something every day and not be destination oriented.
Here is the cannon fusillade at Ft Ticonderoga.

It's definitely doable. If it's not raining when I get up. Roads should be empty early Sunday morning.

Check out Lehman's country store in Kidron, Ohio that caters to Amish and a Texan on a Guzzi. Only 35K sq ft to browse antique farm machinery, food, gas powered washing machines and a thousand plus more items. I spent 4 hours in there and left with a loaded Guzzi.
Sho nuff enjoying your posts,

Day 6
The forecast for Maine was a couple days of unsettled weather, so I got up early and left Bethel, Maine in a light to medium drizzle, heading South to meet the Connecticut Boys at their Spring Fling in Woodstock.
Yukked it up for 30 or 40 minutes, then jumped onto I84 westbound to the cute town of Milford PA.
Tomorrow, I will ride south in Western NJ for a bit, circle West around Philidelpia, then back East across the top of Maryland to Delaware, heading south for that bridge/tunnel I keep hearing about.
I still have 8 empty days in (on?) my schedule, so who knows.
It will be a surprise.....even to me.

My favorite kind of trip. :thumb: Too bad about the unseasonably cool weather.

Made it across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge this morning. What a bridge!
A couple incorrect turns had me wandering around Virginia Beach and Norfolk industrial areas but and finally redirected and headed SSW on US258 to N Carolina

Chapter 3 all but done. I will get to my Arkansas compound tomorrow afternoon.
18 states, 11 days, 3800 miles.
Rain chased me out of Maine. Cold weather kept me off of Mt Washington. It raised most of the way across Virginia, North East to Southwest.
New York State was the best part of the trip. I really liked the Watkins Glen Gorge. Also Ft Ticonderoga and Crown Point was nice.
Second best was my ride today across the top of Georia on U.S. 76.
The best meals were a fried catfish lunch in Norfolk Virginia and a lunch of porky goodness in North Carolina.
I have about 10 states to go. The Minnesota rally is coming up soon, the back to Seattle and up to Alaska. Yeehaw!
