Title: Combined Engines

Pictorial of "Combined Engines."  Most are motorcycles.  I have to wonder about upgrades to the suspension and how road worthy, they would be as a motorcycle.   :grin:

Great stuff!

Alan Millyard is the master of creating mutli-engine bikes.  He does an awful lot of the work with a hacksaw and a file.

One of the neatest (IMO) of his bikes was two TZR 250 top ends on a Mach III bottom end to create a four cylinder 500cc bike.

Of course, Yamaha got in on this game early by mating two TZ350 top ends to create the TZ700.  Damn shame the production street bike version the GL750 died in the womb.

The one I think I liked the best was a three cylinder air cooled RD600 created from two Yamaha RD400 engines.

Millyard has done some good stuff.   :thumb:  His Youtube vids are good too.  Looks more useful than a lot of the other bikes that are listed

Thanks for posting that. I had a friend, A Guzzi rider named Harlan ( rip) that had a business In salvage. One evening we rode with him to see what his current project was. It turned out to be a large stash of Korean War surplus. He gave me two big air cooled Continental tank engines, brand new. They looked just like a Continental aviation engine except they were flat eight cylinders instead of six. More extensive baffling and fans driven off the accessory case. Sadly I wasn’t in a position to take them, I would have loved to put them on a vintage looking car. Probly two cars…

Obviously he does not do the welding with a hacksaw and file.  But.... yes. 

He has even cut engines apart with a hacksaw and did the fit up and weld prep with a file in front of crowds at some motorcycle shows in the UK.

IMO, its a wonderful thing to see what intelligent people can do with limited resources.
