Title: Le Mans IV Dash Removal
Post by: cjl on June 12, 2023, 07:22:08 PM
Looking for some assistance in replacing some dashboard light bulbs on my 1986 Le Mans IV!

I've gone through some manuals, but can't seem to locate how exactly to get to the indicator lights safely without breaking anything. I've read that the the key bevel must be removed first, but it doesn't seem to be a removable piece - unless I'm missing something.

Appreciate any help!

Chris

Not my photo, but here's the exact dash just for reference:

It's a bit of an exercise, from memory its :
 - fairing off
- remove tacho & speedo cables
- loosen nuts under the rubber cover, allowing the whole assembly to be moved
- undo screws holding on back cover, and ease the cover off

behold ! - all the entrails are revealed.

lamps are tiny wheat globes in plastic holders and they are awkward to get to. Pliers and patience needed.
Make sure you don't use an LED for the generator lamp, or battery wont charge !
While you're in there, make shiny and de-Oxit all the connectors as best you can

A good way to spend a wet afternoon...

Can't thank you enough! This is a tremendous help.
