Good afternoon, I went to ride the bike today and I noticed an interesting problem.
The engine light stays on and the brake light illuminates, but will not get brighter when I pull in the brake lever or press on the brake pedal.
Situation:
V7 III Rough
Bake has been running for a year with no issues.
No changes have been made in over a year.
Brake light is on.
Brake light will not flash when activated.
Fuses are all unbroken.
The bike stops when applying either the front or rear brake.
May of 2022 SATO rear sets were put on, this includes a new brake switch.
December 2021 LED tail light put in. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07F9NWM2M/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The only thing that I can think is that potentially the brake switch has gone bad???
Thought or suggestions?
Thank you in advance!

Either buy a switch or plug your bike into diagnostic software to tell you what's up.

Normally when Sato rear sets are installed on a V7lll the stock mechanical brake light switch is cut off and a pressure switch is installed on the rear master cylinder. If that wasn't done and the stock rear switch is left in the circuit in must be capped in a way so that the plunger is held down or the brake light will stay on as it is a normally closed switch with the plunger in the extended position. And if that was left like that you would only have a working brake light via the front brake switch.
SOOO...Which style switch do you have?

Thank you for your responses.
When the SATO rear set was installed the included pressure switch was installed.

I purchased the Lonelec adaptor
https://www.lonelec.com/product/guzzidiag-jpdiag-ducatidiag-tuneecu-kit-kl-1talia-3-pin-connection/
Connected it to the motorcycle, viewed the faults:

Not sure what the P0150 error is, but I do not think it is related to the brake light not coming on.
Thoughts or should I look at something else in GuzziDiag? FYI this is my first go round with the software.
I did have to select v7 III Stone, as 'Rough' was not an option; I assumed this is minor.
Edit:
I did find a post about the faults, they are N/A to this situation:
"...P0130 -- O2 wiring
P0150 -- the other O2 wiring
P1607 -- ECU has the flutters
They have a common cause: electrical noise getting into the unterminated CANbus...
One is the tachometer connector under the gas tank which is not used by we downmarket Stone, etc speedometer-only models..."

Time to order a new switch I guess :(
Thanks everyone!

Closing the loop on this saga, the issue ended up being the front brake microswitch.
I replaced the rear brake switch and I was still experiencing the issue of turning on the bike the rear light flashes and stays on. What I have discovered is the following:
-If I disconnect the front switch electrical connections the brake light goes out
-At this point if I press the rear brake pedal the rear light activates
-If I jump the front brake connections the rear brake light comes on and stays on
What I did not know is how the front brake microswitch works. When the front brake is not engaged this is the off position of the switch (broken contact). When you pull the front brake lever this disengages the mechanical part of the switch and makes the connection e.g. pushed in is off and released is on.
If I press the microswitch past the normal point it operates as expected, so bad spring / contact inside the switch.
I have ordered a replacement (03749845) and all should be well.
