Title: lower fork plate assembly replacement
Post by: mdhen on July 17, 2023, 10:11:38 PM
On the v7 iii how easy is it to replace the lower fork plate assembly? Part number 2B003791. I sheared off one of the steering stops and trying to choose between replacing it or tapping a bolt in and putting a locking nut on it to fulfill the same function as the one that has been sheared off.

I’d look for a replacement lower triple tree with the stem in it. I don’t know how tight they are on that one but on 98 and up big blocks I’ve not been successful in removing the stem without destroying it, something easy to do on previous ones. I like to adjust (bend) the steel stop on the frame so it contacts the nubs as close to their base as possible . Let us know how it goes please

If it uses the same one as a II. Try Moto Guzzi Classics. I think he has a few for the II.

That one has the stem in it yeah? How difficult would it be to swap this?

And it's from a v7 ii but I think will work in a iii?
