Title: 2007 Norge tilt sensor
Post by: Kaladin on August 21, 2023, 12:58:18 PM
Saturday I was digging around the relay block trying to figure out why my high beams don't come on.   I came across this weird  component with two wires going into it.  I took off the rubber mounting flange to try to figure out what it was.   When I put it back on I notice that it had a "this end up" kind of label on the rubber.   But I don't know which way is up on the sensor.  Could this be why I can't start the bike?

thanks

That is the tip over sensor, a ball sits in a V shape resting spot. Shake it you'll hear the ball. Flip it over, bike should start.

A few years ago foolishly dumped my Norge 8V trying a U-turn on a very sandy road. After dumping it, it just kept running with the left header burning nicely through the plastic until I hit the kill switch. Idles well at about 110 degree down angle in a ditch.

I flipped the sensor and the bike starts fine.  Thanks
