Is there a recommended mileage when to change the internal fuel filter?
I have a v7 III with 25k on odometer.

I found it odd, but I did not find anything in the OM relating to a service interval for the fuel filter, but the manual does tell the owner to inspect the lines at each service point. ? hummm....
This is "rub" I have with modern "acceptable" practices. A fuel filter is a service item, and therefore it should be in a serviceable location, period... a simple plastic see through type, and then the when to change point becomes obvious...
This is getting way to common on ALL vehicles (not just a Guzzi thing). couple this crappy design concept with the "dealer only service" mentality, that is also getting too common, only increases our cost of ownership, and frustrations.

I asked an independent BMW motorcycle mechanic and he recommended to change it every 20k-25k miles.

When I bought my (used) V7ii I was already aware of the half plastic - half aluminium fuel filter installed on these bikes early on so was very pleased to see that the dealer who sold me the bike serviced it replacing oils, tyres and filters including the infamous fuel filter!
4k miles later, I did my own servicing and because the tank was off I thought I should check the filter - fiddly business but turned out it was indeed an all-metal one so all good..
Just before putting the tank back, don't know why but I connected the fuel pump, and with an empty container under the fuel line I switched on the ignition - the fuel pumped out was absolutely brown and muddy.. Yet looking in the tank the petrol was clear?
So I removed the pump again and found that the idiots who did the last service installed the fuel filter the wrong way round! :violent1:

Just search v7 fuel filters here. Covered for years.

Most of the threads just talk about replacing the half plastic filter with an all metal filter, not really "when" as far as I can tell.

Short of massive amounts of rust that big nylon prefilter and the metal filter should virtually last the life of the bike. No different than modern cars.

I changes the one on the EV at 50Kmi and put it in at 10K. It should last at least 50Kmi or before it stops.
