Sorry, didn't post a pic, but it's a real CL listing.
Hard to tell how much of the writeup or history is legit, but if true, I again am AMAZED at how someone can buy such a beautiful vehicle (could be a bike, car, anything) and leave it to languish and fester. By the looks of the rear drive, it was left outside for a long time. Maybe I'm just feeling critical today.

$2,000 to high for condition!!

So, your saying it’s a $1200 motorcycle?

The way it is presented? Yeah, 2K is probably too much to ask. But then, I figure all CL ads are negotiable.
It is worth mentioning that this is a year 2000 V11 Sport, so it is the shorter frame/steeper head. Personally, I think that is a plus, as that is what I had. The V11 is a really good, versatile machine.

20years+, it leaks, and is scratched up and may not even run. Let something sit and rot 5 years and you don't have much value left????

I'd give it a chance. The petcocks on all these bikes leak sooner or later. This one will need a going over for the seals & hoses for leaks and age of the tires. Perhaps have the throttle bodies cleaned out and a tune up. It needs to be checked if recalls are completed. It'll need a bellhousing bracket installed to protect the gearbox case. The black paint is a question mark depending how bad the condition or whether it can be touched up. I'd budget a $ grand for mechanicals and then consider the tires and cosmetics separately.
The black bikes are the rarest of the run, although not as pretty as the Greenie , still really nice looking bike. They handle and ride nicely. Really like nothing else.
A low mileage creampuff should be worth at least $4k. So yeah, his price is high for the condition, everything is negotiable. But if you wanted a black Sport, where will you find one? And what would you pay? These bikes in nice condition aren't getting cheaper but it takes a bit of work to make and keep them nice.
The experts are on the V11 LeMans board. Just about every problem and cure has been written about there. We've had lots of debates regarding the values. https://www.v11lemans.com/forums/

My global gripe is the bike was allowed to fester and rot at such LOW miles. I mean, for quite a while there the bike must've maintained it's "new" luster, but nobody rode it!

It seems the color of the Canadian one only was available for a few months. Really liked it when they came out.

Are there any red flags for the pre 2003 V11's?
- clutch plate issue? Or was it just on the Scura?
- did the exhaust cross-over pipe make a difference in 2003?
- are the narrower oil feeds to the piston skirts on the pre 2003 an issue?
- Other known issues that were sorted out for 2003?
- I hear some people like the shorter frame on the pre 2003
For red frames, 1) recalls. 2) the bellhousing brace. 3) Roper plate ... not aware of those above

I never did the Roper Plate or bell housing brace, but then I didn't run mine up to redline...ever. I was rather more sedate.
I did carry a spare transmission gear selection return spring, which were known to break. Mine never broke. Probably because I had a spare.
The engine vent pipe to the spine frame blew off one time in Wisconsin and made a helluva racket. That scared the daylights out of me, but I just plugged it back in and all was good.
Some of the V11s were prone to vapor lock. The fuel line runs between the cylinder and if parked when hot, the gas vaporized and then the bike wouldn't start until it cooled down. And sometimes (I don't know why), it would die when i decelerated to a stop from highway speeds. Like coming off an exit ramp- at then end it would just die. Started back up every time.
