I've seen a Lario near me and now I have lust.
Don't ask me why as I have a V65SP that I resurrected from boxes that presently doesn't run due to a second dead Dyna Ignition. I have new condensers and the points are new I'm just to lazy to take the dead Dyna off and retime the V65. Also I'm just tired at 70 after restoring a 74 Alfa Spider (and I still have to replace the top)
However, there's this Lario and the bodywork looks great. what man can resist a great body and pretty face?
So a question for the Esteemed Guzzi Gurus.
How bad is a Lario 4v?
Should I just forgetabotit because I do have other projects and a never-ending honey-do list

This is the Dyna S?? (scratching head) They're super reliable..
As far as the 4V..blueprinting the top end with top rated components should make it reliable enough. If it's pre 87, there are a couple of rear end mods that need to be done. Same with the transmission breather on all. Modern small block drivetrain stuff can be fit into the great body and pretty face?

Dyna S is reliable when you get one that works, sometimes it takes 3 to get a good one. That was in the 80's, must be better by now.

"They are reliable when you get one that works." Hahaha, that could be a good assessment of Moto Guzzi!
Guzzisteve is the best mechanic posting here. Chuck knows the Lario inside and out. He has a custom-build using a Guzzi flying drone motor.

lario's are great little bikes , absolutely recommended .
the valve issue's are well documented,
if you expect to run it 20.000 miles a year, get something else.
if you want a great summer toy go for it.
handling with the right tires is amazing.
personally i have been running one as daily transport for a decade, also using it quite hard .
( two up holidays , or spending up to 700 miles/day virtually flat out)
i've seen quite a few dropped valves, usually i managed 45.000 miles on a motor.
I should probably start rebuilding them after 40.000 as a precaution, valves are a lot cheaper that rebuilds.
