I know there was a thread going some time back but I have been unable to find it so I am starting another. The schedule for the upcoming season has been announced. I was surprised to not see the Sacramento mile on the list of events. I have had it in my mind to put it on the calendar so I would not schedule something on that date. Instead there is one I think in Ventura and another is scheduled for Chico. Chico is a short track and is almost a circle within a bowl. I don't think it would be near as exciting to watch as opposed to a mile race. Anyone know why the Sacramento Mile isn't on the schedule?

I suppose 2 years in a row without Loudon isn’t a surprise. Wish they’d get the dirt right up here. Maybe third time’s a charm?

I saw the empty, still hoping. I was planning on going this year. Chico is only an hour and a half away though. I went to a World of Outlaws race there a few years ago. We camped right in the fairgrounds. The Outlaw crews and drivers partied all night long. Burnouts on their Harleys and a gocart with a couch mounted on it. They race hard and party just as hard.

When I was stationed in California we would watch them race at the Sacramento mile. It must have been forty years ago. I remember a guy took out eight hay bales and come in second place. Competitive racing alright!
