Hi all, at 17,203 miles I had my first break down.......a turn signal bulb burned out. No biggie I figure, just get one from AF1 racing. They say 1 ordered to day will arrive in May....really? And their website and the parts manual I have copied shows it as a clear 5w bulb. So I removed it and took a pic of the tiny numbers on the bulb and found out, of course, that it is amber and 10w! What's up with that? Solution was Amazon. Link below if anyone needs a tail light bulb. Should be here Thursday, which is good, as Friday is supposedly partly sunny and a high of 49, so taking the day off for a ride.
Regards,

I put an inexpensive Sylvania LED bulb in both my MKI and MKIII housings. I liked the performance (bright, fast illumination) but the one in the MKI burnt out in not much more than a year - I put the old incandescent (probably the original) bulb back in.
Guess I should buy a spare or two. Might try another LED solution.

The tail light bulb in my V7lll Special gave up the ghost at about 3,500 miles. I just replaced it with a normal bulb, I don't remember the number but I think it was an 1157. The manual called for some oddball wattage so I went with the 1157. I also carry a spare around with me if normal life expectancy is so short due to vibration, from the road not the engine, of course. :thumb:

I just popped an LED replacement bulb in mine when it went. Can't even say how many years it has been hanging on the pegboard. At least 10 I'm sure of.
I already had Skenedesign LED Run/Turn/Brake lights on either side of my license plate so didn't really need to replace the bulb so I thought, might as well try the LED bulb.

Your link went to turn signal bulbs, not tail light bulbs.

That is because I am an idiot. I MEANT turn signal bulb...........than ks for pointing that out.

Ha ha, oh yeah that (turn signal bulb) was different. IIRC I went to 2-3 auto parts stores, like Napa, AutoZone, and Advance and none of them carried the right replacement. I too wound up buying online, I think it was Amazon.

Same as some other folks, I had a twofer of 1157 base LED bulbs I got, put one in the Triumph--it got shook apart after awhile, went back to incandescent--and stuck the other in the III, the bulb was still good, figured why not upgrade the tail light whilst changing the headlight bulb to LED? Both are still fine 3000 miles or so later

What a catastrophe! Are you the original owner? Wonder if the bulb had already been changed at some point.
One of the first changes I made to my USA 2022 V7 850 e5 was installing the OEM Euro LED turn signals on it, purchased through AF1 Racing. Very happy with them, especially their appearance.

This is a good reminder to check your blinker fluid on occasion. I like to run synthetic, but I know others prefer organic.

THEY DON'T FIT! The bulb base is correct but the engagement nubs are mounted at 180 degrees, not like the slots on the V7 directional, which is perhaps 165 degrees........for some reason.
Not pleased.
