Title: Help me identify this sound.

This sound I'm trying to track down under load. I adjusted valves but did nothing. I am now leaning towards clutch or gearbox thrust bearing. Any help is appreciated.

Between 13min-15 min metal tapping rattle sound.

Check the exhaust nuts?
Have you used a stethoscope to try and locate the source?

No I can hear from both sides of the fuel tank if I put hy head down.
Exhaust nuts are tight are torqued with nord lock washer.
Can't do that because the sound only appears under load. ( it does not sound like pinging or detention or lugging.)

Not that I can see. I have heavy-duty zip ties on it.

Post by: lucian on December 12, 2023, 09:08:23 AM: chasing noises can be a pain . I always start by winding up to speed on a vacant road and then shutting the engine off and coasting in neutral to isolate chassis noises form engine / driveline noises

I started losing my hearing instead. Now my wife has to tell me about annoying noises that I can’t hear….
