Imho These guys aren’t particularly nuts. Hard to think of “crazy men” and rocket-powered machines without including the legendary Kenny Powers.. his rocket car actually had proper Wile E Coyote rocket wings-

Those videos are cool! The car jump one is wild! I had no idea that took place, back in the 70s. Thanks for posting those, guys. :thumb:

Watching isle of Mann, Ulster and similar road-based courses are probably my favorite videos to watch anytime, both for audio and visual.
I’ve always wondered about the most serious riders, as well as the local/regional governing body.
I assume the serious riders must spend a lot of time, maybe living there for extended periods, to ride the roads non-stop to memorize every detail? It would seem very hard to learn them so well any other way. I know I used to have certain distances of more interesting local surface roads extremely well-memorized for the best riding/driving experiences. Does someone here know more?
I also think and wonder about the perpetual investment and maintenance of the actual road surfaces by the responsible entities. Is it funded, at least in part, by some manner of tourist-oriented hospitality or accommodations tax? Seems like the road surfaces are usually in generally very good shape. Maybe the climate is mild enough to not be as much of a detriment as other geographic regions, but after years involved with local city council & serving on planning commission, it always makes me wonder how the entire course is maintained & serviced to seem so consistent.

Well I can confirm that the roads on the IOM are SIGNIFICANTLY better than those on the main land
I guess that the IOM Government feels that its important unlike the one in Westminster 😉

Sad. I know it can sound hollow, but she died doing what she wanted and, I presume, understood the risks involved. Just as the road racers do.
