At about 88K miles, I now see some electrical issues popping up: During mid-ride, my main headlight went out (LEDs still working), check engine light came on, big "SERVICE" letters appear, horn is dead, and rear indicators don't work (rear lights are on though). Especially the horn being silent bugs me - that's a real safety feature..(!)
All fuses seem fine btw.
Any ideas what could have happened, and why, would be much appreciated. Many thanks for thoughts in advance.

Does it come back to life on its own?
Does the engine die ?
Bad ground, loose or corroded come to mind.
Where heck I don’t know.

Yes - engine runs, didn't die when it happened. Bike can also be restarted, but especially without horn I don't feel safe riding it to honest - a good functioning horn is a life saver with many of the car drivers out there these days...!

Man - modern electrical/electronic issues can be a bear.
What's common to all of those areas for a first place to look?
Ignition switch?
Sometimes the electrical path in the system design is not obvious.

The 1400 bikes have a pretty robust OBD checklist . I would start by seeing if any faults appear in the stored memory. As Stretch pointed out, it's likely that there is a fault with a circuit common to all the problems you are having. I think the left hand switch gear is a candidate. Also , see if turning the bars lock to lock produces the faults , if so , it could be an issue in the loom at the steering head.
