I have a Very long large oval head ( apparently brain size doesn't correspond to skull size!) Thus have a pretty difficult time finding a well fitting lid.
If you fall in to the oval head camp, Prime has a great deal on the LS2 strobe modular, a lid known for its ability to fit egg heads, with a lot of features not found on lower priced helmets. You might get lucky like I did a score a good fit for $70. My advice, go bigger than you think. According to their head measuring I should have been happy with an xl, so I ordered a xxl, but it was still to tight, sent it back n/c and got a xxxl, and fit great.

I'm a wee bit dolichocephalic myself (learned the term in Elementary Anthropology back in '64. Cephalic index snd all..).
Well anyway Shoei changed their RF-1200 shells to accommodate my particular geometry. So us longheads should give the Shoei product a good look when shopping.
Wish helmet manufacturers would publish the cephalic index for their interior cavity. Most other items for clothing include numerous numbers to select a fit. Even shoes have a couple of numbers. Helmets provide one number (actually some letters), a serious price for quality, then wish you luck.
