Title: Colorado Legalizes Lane Filtering
Post by: Tom on April 11, 2024, 07:33:14 PM
Just in time for this summer.  Of course, only do it if you follow the rules and feel safe doing it.   :thumb:

Change can be stressful for some people - I wonder what the initial response will look like.

Just a note to all the Colorardoians - use your new rights with care

Drivers of cars and trucks, accidentally or maliciously, have the tendency to randomly take your space.

It's an option I rarely use here in the UK  unless I'm as confident as I can be that I'm not putting myself at risk

I read that it's only allowed when traffic is stopped and the rider must be going slower than 15mph.  I 've seen a video of a Cali rider being clipped when filtering in moving traffic where cars are changing lanes trying to get into the faster moving lane.  My point is for caution regardless.

OTOH, my recent trip to Texas I saw two different riders "filtering" at close to triple digits....zoooo zzoooomm.  One of them was on a 'busa

Filtering is a skill. If you haven't done it previously my advise, as someone who does it on a daily basis here in Ireland, if build up to it. It takes way more concentration than most would credit.
