I wish Rennsport was still doing Guzzi stuff. I especially like the fin guards they made, and glad I kept mine.

I got mine in 89 off of a trade in at the shop I worked at, $25 to the boss but they were going for $75 at the time.
What a deal, stuff is very nice. They cover a broken fin on LH.

I've got one of his exhaust systems on my SP1000, 2-1-2 headers and alu mufflers, great system. Bought it through a bike shop in San Francisco in early 1989.

I'd love a set of those headguards for my Cal III. some pics. Stage 3 build by Rennsport in 1992.

Although not Rennsport, hese have two different models of cylinder head savers https://us-en.radicalspeedshop.com/an_einbauteile, and these have a variant not a million miles from Rennsport's design https://www.stein-dinse.com/en/moto-guzzi-cylinder-protection-guard-square-black-big/item-1-1429514-3459.html and also these offer the same sort of style https://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/TheShop/index.php?f=d&q=SSA06035

I have his exhaust on my ‘76 LM. Sounds and works great but the craftmanship and and construction are 3rd rate. Maybe he was just learning how to use a mandrel bender?

I'm still running the flywheel he lightened for me decades ago , the Le Mans 2 sure developed great throttle response afterwards ! Peter

Previous owner took out the lightened rennsport flywheel and installed a RAM clutch. Still spinning up lightning quick.

Maybe so, I never had any issue with mine.

This is an article on Rennsport's work from the August 1988 issue Motorcyclist Magazine:

Mine is apparently an early one. Mufflers have no badge them and the pipes are blackened. They are not parallel to the oil pan but have a V shape closer to the ground that have scraped the pavement multiple times. No complaints with the sound or performance.

A friend on a LeManV had an exhaust…termed it flimsy, and that lower exhaust in the middle under the pan got whacked more than necessary..he did like the sound
Replaced with the original black chrome he found used

Great story!

The rennsport exhaust on my Cali 3 has been on there since 1992 and has covered 60,000 miles. It's still in great shape. I mated it to a set of BUB Conti Reps. Yikes!
