Hi all,
I have just bought a beautiful metalic green van with mistral exhaust sounds great. My question is the bike a VI? It has no ABS and is a 5speed. Thanks for the help.
I'm looking into a remap to improve the slow speed riding and make is smoother, 1st gear feels like a switch, very on or off.

5-spd = MkI
The MKII was a 6-spd w/ abs.

The v7ii is the last of the heron head v7s but it also has the six-speed transmission ABS and traction control. For me it was the sweet spot of the heron heads.
The v7i has the five speed and the single throttle body and five speed, but I I'm pretty certain it did not have ABS or traction control so you likely have a V7i. On my V7ii, I found the Beetle Map removed the 3K dip in power, but no real other improvement. Not sure it it will be benificial.
The older V7 classics with the twin throttle bodies had no ABS/TC and a 5 speed. This the setup in my Breva 750 and it is delightful in stock tune.

Correct. My 2015 MK1 V7 had neither.

Is there many name people who have had a there engine remapped / beetle map on a v1? Is there a noticeable difference in how it picks up, rides at low speeds?

Even Mark himself told me not to bother remapping my V7 MkI. But my only complaint was a cold start stumble.
Honestly the Heron head motors don't really respond much to upgrades in terms of performance.
I'm sure you might feel some difference around the EPA test range but I don't know that it would be worth it.

I remapped my V1 twice. The first remap was when I still had the stock mufflers. The remap changed the shifting for me such that I now had a shorter second gear. With the original map it seemed like I would be at almost 40mph before the bike felt like it should be shifted into 3rd. With the remap, the shifting just felt smoother and right. I rode in second gear for less time.
Then I changed my exhaust to Agostini. With the Agositni pipes, I would get some popping on deceleration. So I bought one of the Beetle maps for it and the map basically eliminated the popping. It may happen here and there, but not regularly like it was popping before the map.

Say what you want about Egan but we pulled the ECU from my 2015 as I was putting Agos on it. He remapped it and sent it back. My bike was PERFECT. Best running V7 MKI I ever rode, and I rode a lot of them.
