I have a project coming up that involves splitting a Case IH 495 tractor to replace the clutch. While searching the web for some guidance , I came across this fella's video. I expected this job to be fairly labor intensive but I have a whole new appreciation of what that really means after watching this incredible man do the same job . Truly inspiring.

I my youth I split an International tractor in a field with no help and a lack of proper tools and safety gear, stands etc. I cannot imagine doing what this fella can do. Just wow! In my training at trade school we had a blind fella in our class, he saw and heard things the rest of us couldn't, it truly moved me to have more respect and to wait for people to show me what they are capable of. What desire some have to attempt things I am not sure I could even begin to try. Inspiration you say!!!

Well, I've got some bad arthritis which is increasingly deforming and weakening my hands. And I tend to piss and moan and complain about it on occasion. I think I'll try to stop all that after seeing this video.

People can be very adaptive. When part of my job was running a work study program for HS students receiving special education services I had an employer that had limited use arm/hand due to being a Thalidomide baby. He was retired but was operating a bird house and related items business that was grossing over a million a year. He told me about when he was young recently married with a baby he got laid off form a rehabilitation job when a grant ran out. Desperate for a job he applied at a Chrysler dealership when they were looking for a person to due oil changes and light mechanical duties. During the interview they made it clear that they didn't believe he could do the work. He convinced them to give him a two week trial. Well...long story short two years later he was overall manager of a Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth dealerships group in Denver.

I realize that and at times it will let me do that.
Luck of the draw.

A young girl with the same condition flew her Ercoupe into Oshkosh one year. She was amazingly supple and could do such intricate things with her feet. It brought tears to my eyes..
