Title: Moto Guzzi v7 Highway Footpegs
Post by: davenull on June 30, 2024, 06:21:22 PM
Has anyone installed highway footpegs on their v7? I was looking for something that mounts directly to the engine guard mounting points, but couldn't find anything.

Since I do have the MG engine guards, I'm wondering whether something generic that mounts to round bars could work; but due to the transverse V-twin configuration of the engine, I doubt that will work without burning your legs. Any thoughts?

I'm also considering getting a bracket made by a machinist friend but then I wonder about legality / insurance etc. since in Germany anything you add to your bike needs to be officially "licensed" by the authorities to be safe / not alter the safety of the bike in any way. Even something like a small windshield.

I'm interested in seeing highway peg options for the V7 as well. I prop my boots up on the crash bars for short stretches. Not the sole of the boot, but more the back of the calf area. It is not a great solution for longer periods of time, but it's an alternate foot position for when you need a stretch - similar to using the passenger pegs.

Mine is now a café bike so no need for highway pegs, but I do have a pair of SW Motech aluminum pegs in black that will mount on any round bar.

Here they are mounted in my Versys.

Since they are a German company they might have something that works for you.
