Interesting update.

A local Moto Guzzi dealer is hoping to bring the truck of demo bikes to the Georgia campout. I believe the bikes are heading to Barbers after that, so he hopes to bring them to the campout first.

He hopes to show up Thursday the 19th and be there through Sunday.

Cool.

I will post more details if things change.

I hope the demo bikes show up.  I'd love to try out the new V100, and also a V85tt.

Same weekend as the Kentucky rally, and the same weekend I already have plans up at Land Between the Lakes.  Feast or famine.

Weather forecast is all over the place.  One says sunny skies, another says rain all weekend.  Wish they could make up their minds.  Really, really botched the forecast with tropical storm Francine.  Said the Chattanooga area was going to get 1.5 to 2 inches of rain. Supposed to start raining Thursday and rain through Monday.  Could not have been more wrong.  We got a couple of showers yesterday, and that was it.  Maybe 1/4 to 1/2 inch.  Must be nice to have a job where you can be completely wrong 100% of the time and not get fired!

For those of you who do not like to camp, the Holiday Inn in Dahlonega is only $342 a night. (plus taxes of course)

Unfortunately, there are other plans that will keep me from attending. Would have been a good time to refine the camping setup a bit more.   I will likely be able to see the Southeast Motorcycle folks in Savannah however.

The lady at my hotel said the reason for the exorbitant hotel prices and lack of vacancies is a big bicycle race around the Dahlonega area.  I can't find anything about it on line.  The big Six Gap race is the following weekend, so I hope she got her dates mixed up.  Now the wx is calling for a major heat wave.  Heck, 90+ degrees will be pretty tough on me!  Are the Moto Guzzi demos confirmed?

WAYNE,
Is the GGR (Great Guzzi Ride) still on for Saturday morning?
Lift off 9am (or shortly thereafter)?
Just working out my day plan as I won't be leaving from Acworth much before Nautical Twilight. :bike-037:

I recall the bike race from last year.  That was painful.

Had a good time Friday and Saturday at the demos.  Demo'd a V100 Mandello Friday afternoon and then the V85tt on Saturday.  Very impressed with the V100.  With a set of hard cases, it would make a fantastic sport-touring bike. The V85tt was just "OK".  It was in "Road" setting and the throttle response felt like a plug wire was disconnected.  I finally figured out how to change the mode by the time we got to the roundabout.  Sport mode fixed the lazy throttle response.  Would have loved to stay over till Sunday, but nothing was available anywhere close at a price I was willing to pay.

I left Sunday morning at 9am with my V7Racer in my truck. Atlanta was painful. Took me nearly 2 hours to get through. And Ocala was nearly as bad. Made it home to Tampa at 7:30.

I rode up Friday, had a great time enjoyed the organized bike run. Got to test ride a V100.
As usual the ride thru Atlanta was a bitch even at 9am on a Sunday morning!!

If going up that way, I go thru 75 to 129 in Macon or 441 in Valdosta to Athens and get on 129 or 441 depending which side of Blairsville I am going. Usually same thing back, then down to the some place to get on 75. Sometimes dont even go on I75, just takes longer. Pretty boring south of Dublin, so may as well go a lttle faster on the slab

How about all them wrecks on Sat, one reason I don't like weekends up there. It's gotten way to crowded.
