Title: Got my new V85TT
Post by: ucwinters on August 03, 2024, 09:44:36 PM
It was a long 3 month wait after placing a deposit but was able to get my new V85TT today from AF1 Racing.  The 137 mile ride back home was extremely hot in the Texas heat but still fun getting to know my 1st Moto Guzzi.

She's a rockstar.  Enjoy her.  Once broken in, she can play hard when you feel like it.

Beautiful bike. When I think Guzzi has reached the pinnacle they take it up another notch. Harley has always had the reputation for the best paint but not anymore. Guzzi has moved ahead of Harley without a doubt.  Your bike is another great example.

Welcome, congratulations, enjoy! We all look forward to seeing what your second is going to be....

That new paint scheme is absolutely the best so far on the V85. I see yours is gray upper and lower, I only thought they did it in red. Both look fantastic.

Did you trade in the Norge or just adding to the fleet?  Hope all is well!

I also have a Rosso Fuji on order but haven’t got a date yet. Have you considered luggage for this bike yet? I was hoping for metal Guzzi bags but not sure they are available yet. I have TRAX hard cases on two other bikes but SW Motech is not showing mounts for the 2025s yet. Anyone have any more info on whats available for these bikes? Other options maybe other than plastic Travel bags?

The Norge went to live in Arizona in May 2023.
The RE HImalayan went to live in California in June 2024.

My modest retirement income precludes owning more than 1 bike at at time.

I have owned a set of Mosko Moto Reckless 40s and Mosko Moto Tank Bag for just about 8 years now.  They work perfectly, no mounts are necessary, and I prefer soft luggage to the hard stuff.

I have my old Eclipse bags that I use on my LeMans and Norton but would prefer more space for the longer trips.

Went to live as in you sold it?

I didn't know you had a Royal Enfield...what didn't you like about it to sell it so quickly?

The V85 looks wonderful!

Not trying to hijack the OP thread but yes I live down 9 miles of dirt road and not much fun on a Norge with all that plastic and street tires...
The Himi was PERFECT for rural New Mexico but too underpowered for highway work against the wind.  I loved it but loaded up for traveling strangled the mighty 24 BHP.
I miss the 2V Norge always....best engine MG every built!

I have a pair of Mosko bags on my 2013 Stelvio and used the factory pannier mounts. For the V85TT, no mounts are needed? Wouldn't the bags flap around some. Entertaining this bike for future purchase but hard bags are a hard no for me. Thanks
