Title: Lucas Rita AB11 ignition Guzzi wiring
Post by: IceBlue on August 06, 2024, 04:08:01 AM
Guys
Anyone have a .pdf with the wiring diagram for small block Guzzi - not Norton.
I will be greatfull for any assistance.

I know one exists, but Google has given up. Only gets the Norton wiring.
I sold my 750 Targa, which had Lucas Rita ignition, so I can't reverse engineer

Thanks!!
Brian

Does anyone have a wiring diagram...

This might help even if it's for the big-block Guzzi.  This is the diagram that came with the RITA that I installed on my Cal2.

I guess I've had too many old British cars...   the name Lucas scares the crap out of me...

Fair enough, but in this case it really shouldn't.  For an electronic ignition upgrade that eliminates the points and centrifugal ignition advance, the RITA system has none of the problems that are often seen with the Dyna system.

There are much more modern and better systems available than either of those two mentioned though.
I had a Rita may years ago and it needed a lot of juice to work alongside a bosch starter motor in winter.Consequently it let me down a number of times so I ditched it.Now that was prior to knowing how to optimise the charging system but  I never had similar issues with the points, piranha or sachse systems I've used on that bike since.
