Title: Oil sensor location change?
Post by: SemperVee on September 19, 2024, 02:09:12 PM
I'm inside the belly of the beast - Having a heck of a time removing my bad oil pressure sensor from my 07 Norge. Yes, throwing a Dashcode 07.  *Wonder why not connect to oil cooler line?   I have been unsuccessful thus far in removing the fitting and certain it has never been done before.

Why would this be a bad idea?

Could you clean it up and send another shot ?
It does not look like mine.

Ahh yes..
Coarse thread version ?
I usually move the alternator out of the way. Adds a bit to the time req’d, but less frustrating.
Good for you though.. :thumb:

I found a list of alternative oil sensors from the tractor site but it was for loop frame guzzi bikes.. I ordered the " import direct"  one from O'Reilly auto parts here tomorrow hope it works?  I would think as long as it has a 12M pitch thread and spade top I am good?

Yes SV..
We need the coarse thread one.
I have not done this myself, but I wonder if a helping of silicone sealant on the connector, would prevent the gentle loosening due to vibration that can sometimes occur..
Maybe overkill ?

Wait, what?  Is that a low cost a alternative?
Would you point me to it?
Curious to know if it will work for you.
Thanks

WHAT actually ended up working perfectly is the one from NAPA for $16  12M x 1.5  Model OP 6065  - Made by Echlin ignition parts.   Oreilly auto model worked also with correct coarse threads but TOO Large to get wrench around, needed 24mm and the original was 21 mm, NAPA was much closer with 22 mm nut and spade attachment head. Allowed installation without moving Alternator. etc.
