Hi All
New to the forum and have acquired myself a Moto Guzzi Nevada 750 ie 2006 in a poor state to do up and ride
Please be gentle with me as this is my first Guzzi and i am still learning albeit have been riding bikes for the last 40 years and do like to tinker with them

Nice Guzzi for comfort, same as a Breva or V7C for drivetrain. Get a Service manual & learn all about it. There are a few on here that have them.
Search is your friend here, have fun. Clean out tank & fuel system, change fuel filter to all metal one.

I test drove a 750 Nevada back in about '98 and thoroughly enjoyed it, though I was looking for the roadster version (V7?) which wasn't available at the time of the rideout. I ended up buying an ex-demo Triumph 900 Trident, but the Guzzi experience remained for decades. (I can see/remember the route to this day!).
Just over a year ago, I intended to replace my Monster 600 with a V50 but couldn't grab one at a favourable price, so ended up with a bit of a scabby '08 750 Breva. It was only supposed to be my "winter hack" but already I've been buying quite a few bits, plus the obligatory full service (bliss; tappets and no shims).
We have (to a large extent) an engine and running gear in common. :-) Have fun and good luck "sprucing it up". Look out for startus interruptus, which is the first task that I done, once I realised there was nothing wrong with the starter motor. :embarrassed:

I have to date changed the fuel tank as it was rusty from inside, new fuel filter metal one as i read the plastic ones disintegrate, new front forks as old one were pitted (so have old ones to sell), brake pads on front, much cleaning and polishing, new engine oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, new battery, and i am sure i have missed lots. Seem to have spent an eternity on it. It is in a lovely red metallic red colour (tried to get a paint stick for touch up but Moto Guzzi paint is incredibly difficult to match with no paint codes).Got it going lovely but experiencing a feint oil light when turned off (highlighted in a different post) but apart from that loving the bike (not the wife thou). Will endevour to get a picture of it when i work out how....thanks everyone for all your help

Also the fuel hose in the tank. Mine went south, then I found out it's a known problem in those bikes. Hopefully you got that done when you did the fuel filter.

From recollection someone before me did this seems to be something yet to get an MOT on it (Uk road test certificate) once i have solved my feint oil light switch will be off to get that done

Before you start working on electrics go out and get a tub of Petroleum jelly aka Magic grease.
You will find this in any drug store or supermarket as Vaseline
The enemy of low Voltage battery wiring is corrosion caused by Oxygen attacking metal surfaces
Vaseline smeared on battery terminals prevents the Oxygen from corroding the connection
I dip wires in it before crimping on a lug and smear the lug before connecting it to a terminal or chassis. Dip relay pins in it before plugging into a socket
Vaseline is also a lubricant for switches. e.g. the ignition switch.

Hi All
Been a while since i have made a post/reply and have got my Nevada all done except that wretched feint oil light only when ignition is turned off. Taken off clocks, checked connections are clean, changed oil pressure switch (what a fiddly job), thought i might have condensation in clocks so made sure they were put inside in case moisture had got inside,played around with the wiring loom unplugging connections but still no luck...this is now turning in to a personal vendetta and not sure what else i should be doing. Does anyone have a wiring diagram as it seems the oil pressure switch is someway connected to the neutral switch could my problem be here. .anymore help much appreciated

I would unplug the voltage regulator/rectifier just to see if that's the source of your frustration.

That doesn't make sense, if the ignition is Off there's no power to the bulb.
I have seen oil lights on while running due to a dirty insulation on the switch.Simply clean it with a rag.
