I’ve Ben off line for a while. But I’m back kinda. Think about a rally back in Ar. Petit Jean Mt. S p , lodge with cabins and bar, camping at state park. And motel plus lot’s of really good ridding. If their is some interest I will check on things and put it together. Rudy

Mather lodge has club they tell me, the lodge is about 2 miles from the lake & park. Then there is a motel the other way about a 1 mile the motel is really close to really nice car museum. A really nice no challenge way up on the mt. Is up from the south side, it’s from a small towns of Casa or Odona they or on Hy. #10. It’s in a wet county. Rudy
-
Do it

Good camping there too, so lodging for all types and good riding :whip2: come on and set up a date :bike-037:

what "The Swede" said! :thumb:

Rudy great to hear from you. Find a date and lodging, I'll ride on up. Maybe we can get some of the missing back in as well.
It would warm my heart if we got some of the old crew back together. It's been hard for the last few years. I'll try to make it if my health and love ones allow it.

Well, I’m goin to big bend for Easter.
-
Look like right now April 11; 12 &13. Easter is 20 th. Now let see what kind of reservations I can make between the lodge & PJ State Park. and last choice motel. I have been waiting tell the new year befor making reservations. Their is a camp grounds at the end of the Airport with a good view of the lake for those that want to fly & camp.Rudy
-
Locked in on the schedule, thanks for working this out.
-
A lot of the cabins, and the lodge are booked up. I got a cabin rented for the 11th-13th. See ya there.
-
If this place is so busy that the cabins are being reserved now for April, why not schedule it during the week, most of us are retired now.
-
I will go up tomorrow and see what the cabins look like inside, only seen them from the out side. If that doesn’t work off to park. I have a toy hauler. I’ve talked to people that live on the mt.. they didn’t know if camp spots have a covering. I will need to check. Got most of my Xmas shopping and rainy day shouldn’t be to many up there. Rudy
-
I went to the mt. I reserved to 2 duplex’s with two double bed’s, kitchen and swing on the front porch. If two plus people want stay about $147.00 for one nit. If you’ll want one let me know by march 15 or I will cancel. Now I got two or 4 beds. I know we or getting old and ground is hard. No one in office on camping, but do plane on renting camping spot close to bath room with showers. The restaurant at the lodge is open from 8:00 to 8:00, Bar 7:00/9:00 pm. I d plane on fixing super fri. nite and breakfast sat. morning with super Sat. nite. Cost is donations & 50/50, I will not pay for camping & lodge rooms. Let me warn you we killed two steer this year so I got lots of hamburger. Hamburger & hot dogs Fri. Nite & chili or spaghetti Sat. nite. Breakfast sausage grave & biscuits.
Coffee & water. It is wet county but about 12 miles for something stronger to drink. I’m sure their a lot more to be done. This what I got today.Rudy
-
This is fantastic Rudy. Thanks for all your efforts putting this together.

That sounds great, thanks for putting this together. The wife and I will pitch a tent once that is lined out I can pay the park or you however you prefer it. I’m a kid in the MG word so 50 years young leaves me with plenty of nights left in a tent. :bike-037:

Rudy, was the group camp area not available?
-
What about plan B and go to Morrilton ?
There's three hotels and package stores (none to the towns west). The Holiday Inn is $80/nite. Restaurants in town and 25 minutes to the park. I'd likely ride and leave my travel trailer home. There are plenty of good roads to get there to avoid the interstate.
-
Ok. Do we have a plan for a rally at a definite time and location?
I’m not complaining. Just confused.
-
Give me this week to get the location for sure lined up. There is a motel on the mt. as well (Ceder Falls motel 501 215 8707) it looked clean & old from the outside. The person at the desk wasn’t around when I was there, the yard man said be their anytime I just didn’t wait. I need to send Frank money so I can get in the book.Rudy

We booked the yurt!

I've been through Petit Jean State park a few times, excellent riding for sure !!

Holly and I have hiked the area a few times and love it. It’s a perfect place to have a rally. I’m looking forward to this one. It will be the first Guzzi rally Holly has been to. She want to give the Breva a try and ride it up there.

Bump......Is it settled then? Petit Jean State Park?
-
The weather has put me a bit behind but I got some info. Tent camping right now is $26.00 a nite full service rv site is $42.00 a nite. I’m booked right by the park road on left. Oh 2 tents per rv site 8 people max. Come one come all I will feed you. But would like to get close est. of number. Lot of really good riding.Rudy
-
I'm planning to go depending on health and weather. I haven't been to Ark for a couple of years now. I suppose it's up to finding lodging. I'll be on my Duc.
Best I can tell, I'll be traveling alone. That's unfortunate.
-
I forgot there is a group camping area but it’s tent camping only. So I didn’t know the number so didn’t book it. I will let others. I still have two duplex rented for now at the lodge come on step up. 15 march I will drop the book.Rudy
-
Me & the Mrs will attend
-
I plan to be there. I'll be in a park cabin. Hauling in the 350 meteor.
-
Me and the wife will be there. Most likely in a tent.

I was up at St Joe visiting ACE. Brought up the Arkansas rally and he was in, especially if Rudy is putting it on.
-
Hi new to the forum but not new to riding. Trying to sort your rally out.
It is in a park the 12 of April.
There are cabins available. If yes and anyone wants to share a cabin I only need a bed.
-
Don’t forget about my Rally sec. Weekend of April. Now Mt. Nebo rally is first weekend (been to it many times, but not this year going to Barbers, but they don’t feed at Nebo, my PJ rally dose. Rudy

-
How far from the tent camping area to the cabins? Thanks.
-
Doesn't look like any more tent sites are available. I live close enough for a day ride from my place. See ya then.

It looked like I wasn't going to be able to make this one, but as Bob Dylan says, "Things Have Changed." See you there.
Checking with TKelly to see if there is still room at the yurt.

I called the park. No flooding or other issues. Weather looks clear with highs in low 70d, nighttime lows in mid 50s.
Maybe wildflowers blooming.
I’m heading north now
-
Broken brake lever. Never had that happen.
-
Arriving Friday afternoon.
-
Cabin check is at 4 pm. I might grab lunch at the lodge while waiting to check in. Friday.
-
Broken brake lever. Never had that happen.
Bring a different bike.

Isn’t that why you are never supposed to use the front brakes?
-
We had pulled pork sandwiches and all the fixins' for dinner. And beautifull riding weather.

States represented:
Arkansas - Rudyr
Kansas - Delrod
Missouri - kballowe, leroysch, travelingbyguzzi, John Wesley
Oklahoma - Shorty
Texas - SmithSwede
Wisconsin - Tkelly + 2
Longest distance award goes to those crazy Wisconsin riders (led by Tom Kelly - approx 800 miles).
Delrod won the 50-50 raffle.
Many thanks to Rudyr for getting this set up, and for providing the gathering place and the chow.

plenty of tire left on the sides. You could've gotten a few hundred more miles out of that tire here in The Hills !

He's pretty modest - he'd never admit it.
But, we got him liquored up and then he won the burnout contest.

Surely that tire was bald leaving Terrell already! Swede living dangerously!
I want a hat like Rudy has...looking cool in the shade there!
-
Yikes! on the bald tire, but I've been caught out the same way once. Never again. My rear tire looked ready for several more full "day rides" in the north Georgia mts, but I hadn't accounted for the mostly "vertical" 2 day round trip to Brunswick ON INTERSTATE ROADS that had exposed the cords as I rode back thru Atlanta at night. I know this, as a fellow motorcyclist yelled out to me YOU'RE THROWING SPARKS! Believe me, there is only a mere film of rubber behind those cords. I now keep a running tab of the miles I've covered on each new tire I install.
Here I've cut tire for your viewing pleasure... :embarassed:
