Seems to be a common problem on V7III's and some modern Harleys. My 2020 V7 Racer tach started reading wrong and it even says in the owners manual not to leave it parked with direct sunshine on the dash. Well, I ignored that, and here in Florida it gets pretty warm. A new tach is rediculously expensive. But repair is easy if you have patience. Gently pry the bezel off the face, then pull the needle up from the servo pin and re-orient it to zero rpm's. My needle was easy to remove, suggesting it may not have been pushed down to the home position on the needle. Then replace the bezel and gently tap around the edges to secure it to the body. There's actually a you tube video on the procedure and they're actually using a Guzzi speedo.
