Title: NGC Firewood processing to get in better shape!
Post by: bobrebos1 on January 24, 2025, 10:04:25 AM
Man I’m sore. lol.  Cutting, splitting, stacking and selling firewood to get in better shape.  I also burn it in the off grid cabin.  Wife is helping too.  Hard work but I stay warm!

Chopping fire wood warms you twice. Once when you chop it and again when you burn it.

Every March and April for me.  Usually 3-4 cords of stacking.  My hands end up falling asleep at night though from carpal tunnel.

My woodshed, great exercise and calms the mind !  Sometime I think the energy that goes into the stack might be greater than the heat produced from the burning.

Have been cleaning up my back property for a few years. Many standing dead trees, a lot of them are ash trees. Cut and split 4-8 cords a year. 4 so far this fall and winter. Sell some, give some away. Good exercise.

I am 82 and have heated with fire wood All my life. Chain saw and wood splinters have made that possible.  No more hand axes or cross cut saws ( with a bother riding one end of cross cut, a person has got to use one to know what I’m talking about). Rudy
