Hi All,
I've got a few seat questions and hoping one of youse can enlighten me.
I have a used, new to me, 2023 v85 Travel. I believe the seat on the bike to be MG 2B005635 or EDO7343, Evocative Standard saddle (red/white stitching). Another member here has offered me a "Low" comfort saddle (white/white stitching) but in comparing our notes, both his saddle and mine have the same part numbers stamped into the seat pan. For all I know, I may already have a "low" saddle on my bike and the diffference in stitch colors has to do with different years of manufacture. So, I'm wondering how to differentiate between the two saddles to confirm what I have vs that being offered without comparing the two side by side?
Secondly, a "low" comfort saddle is being offered from various MG retailers with heat for model year 2024+ that works with bikes having the MIA thing. My bike does have the multi media MIA thing on it (although I've not used it yet...kinda sorta tech ignorant). My question is whether or not the new low comfort w/heat saddle would be compatible (fit & function) on my '23.
Thanks,

Both seats likely use the same seat pan. Measuring the thickness should reveal any height difference.

Just remove the rubber bumpers from under the drivers section. You now have a low seat. The stitch represents the year or possibly the color of the bike. My red/white 22 is one color stitch and m Guardian of the Oreos 23 is different.

You only need the MIA module if you want heat...and it isn't too effecient according to AF1 Racing site.

The MIA or heat in the seat? Common knowledge the OEM heated grips aren't efficient.

MIA module.
The website states the implementation of bluetooth is rather problematic

Ok, thanks all, mission accomplished.

I have ordered a Heated Comfort Seat for a new V85TT from the dealer selling me the bike. I have not ordered the MIA app. I am now under the impression that the only way to control the heating of the seat is by having and using the MIA app. Is that the case?
-
Yes.
AF1 Racing states on their site it doesn't work all that well but I did get an email reply from Cadre Cycle stating they had not had any issues with the module.
I'm currently debating spending the $130+ to find out.

Yeah, good luck trying to make a decision. It aint that good and the other guy says they haven't had any problems. Well, if $130 isn't gonna break the bank I'd try it....probably better than nothing. Some of these guys complain about poor grip heat on the v85 but that hasn't been my experience. The v85 grip heat doesn't seem to get as hot as the factory grip heat on my '08 Wing but the v85 grips put out enough heat for my hands to be comfy at 40-45F. for a couple hour ride.

The E5+ (2024+) need the MIA for heat seat operation and MG heated grips. The AF1 mentions of the MIA refer to the bluetooth operations of the MIA. The heated options don't use bluetooth. If you only want the heated stuff there is no need to pair a phone with the MIA.
