I listened to the author complain about Guzzi lack of power compared to the BMW. But I never saw the Guzzi tach pass the 4K RPM range. Looked like he was running 3K RPM most of the time. Never got into the "useful" part of the power curve.

He was lugging it alright. Besides the difference in engine size.

Good as the BMW may be, it's still nearly double the price of the V7

Well, you will need to allow for the towing and repair bill on the V7 first!  :evil:
