Title: T-3 refreshing

Been doing a lot of deep cleaning and polishing. Also just got back the tank and side panels from the detail shop. Brought out the 35 year old paint nicely.

Nice!  Did they clear coat the tank and panels? Paint looks better than new.  :azn:

Didn't end up needing that. Wet sanded, buffed and ceramic final coating and wax.

Low restriction Lafranconis. Bit louder and less restrictive compared to the standard ones.

Nice bike. Two minor things that would help are plastic plugs for the Allen bolts on the bars, available at hardware store and the eagle on the top nut is upside down. They are just glued in and if the glue is still strong, it could damage it taking it out. If judicious prying with a thin dental pick doesn’t work,. I like to remove it ,flip it over and put a few drops of solvent on the underside of the cover and gently push it out. Then I glue it back with Goop.

Thanks for the tips John. Was planning to replace the two bolts but will check into the plugs. As for the eagle, well it is kind of fun flying upside down.

For you John A...Went to my local Ace hardware and they do not stock the proper bolts nor do they carry the plugs. Out with the Dremel tool, wire brush attachment finished of with Semi-Chrome and a buffing pad on the Dremel. Don't need no stinkin Ace Hardware.

Here they are , expensive though. The polish job turned out well enough. When the local Ace doesn’t have what I’m looking for, I say I’ll probably have to go to a reputable hardware store for that stuff.some places have chrome plastic ones.
