Although a ton of debt is still out there, this may be a last minute effort to save the Company.

If you own / run a company and you aren't smart enough to know "nothing happens until a sale is made," you are in trouble!
With a full years worth of inventory in the field, there is no sense in starting production of new product.
In addition, just adding a longer warranty to the product isn't going to sell it because nobody thinks there will be anybody there to honor it or parts available.

Instead of spending all that money to keep KTM afloat, they should've just used it for severance packages for the employees and let KTM go under.  That would've cost a LOT less...
