Title: MotoGuzzi site update - no V9!
Post by: StoneTen on April 03, 2025, 09:19:14 PM
Just looked at motoguzzi.com and there is no more the V9 shown.
Is it discontinued?

Yup, confirmed by Kev back in this December post after we noticed it absent from EICMA:

I doubt that the V9's were very good sellers. When I was looking for a second bike I was very interested in a Roamer. The only one I could find was clear across the state, in Cali north to south is a long ways. I don't know if the slow sales were due to lack of consumer desire or lack of supply on Guzzi's side. I got a V7 instead then a used Roamer came up for sale somewhat close by a week later. Go figure. I think the V7 850 probably filled that niche except for the Bobber.

The fuel tank was too small!

They were a bit odd, with that small fuel tank.  It looked like the engine was sticking out way too far.  But (to me) that was part of the charm.

LOL - that's probably why I owned three of them, although not at the same time.  A white Roamer, a yellow Roamer, and a black bobber.  There was a time when they were heavily discounted - and I couldn't resist.

For the sake of clarity, and Kev gets enough credit as it is, I was the one who first declared on this web site on December 3, that the V9 was no longer in Guzzi's line up,

For even more clarity: You pointed out it wasn’t at EICMA. Some folks disagreed whether that meant it was truly discontinued, but that was enough for you, me, and others to take the hint. Kev brought the best evidence forward later when he mentioned it was no longer in the branding book. Now it’s no longer on the website (finally), confirming our suspicions. There’s the timeline of breaking headline news as I understand it, if it matters to anyone else except maybe Geraldo if he’s on the forum (nice moustache, Geraldo!)

No need to be a Dick about it Dirk.  I broke the story.  If you want to deny me my little cry for attention, so be it.

Sorry, it’s in my genes to respond to bold, self-lifting “but I was first” remarks. Just having fun, but also adding context to why I mentioned Kev as confirming with that final proverbial nail in the coffin. Gimme your Venmo account and I’ll shoot you money to drink a beer on me tonight.

I agree that the orange is nice, although I like the red one best. Mine is white...

Both the orange and white bikes look fantastic.

Something occurred to me while looking at this photo.

The early V9 appears to be one of the rare smallblock models that had both fenders color matched to the tank!

I wonder if that has something to do with why they look good to me?

Ahh, it's that old OCD chestnut.
Here, we both are in agreement.  :thumb:

I do ponder about tyre options on these unusual hoops - more so on the Bobber than Roamer, though I'd imagine nearly as limiting.
